Sarwar

Visiting Scientist

I am keen to apply fundamental knowledge and bioinformatic tools to facilitate genomic studies in livestock. I have experience of analysing next generation sequencing data of plants, animals and bacteria for developing reference genome, SNP discovery and other comparative genomics. As an academic visitor to Roslin Institute or more specific to AlphaGenes group, I am learning basics of genomic selection to develop selection strategies for Indigenous cattle breed. My focus at National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), India is to develop various genomic resources for genetic and genomic improvement of indigenous cattle.
