Martin

Visiting Undergraduate Student

Within the AlphaGenes team, I am currently working on the simulation of crossbreeding programs, more particularly the estimation of genetic values and the transmission of haploid fragments following the introduction of a “wild” local population’s pool of alleles within an “elite” commercial population of dairy cattle for different production and health traits.

During my studies at the ENVT, I had lectures about basic quantitative genetics concepts. As my first venture into the research world, this project was an extraordinary opportunity to combine my thirst for knowledge in quantitative genetics and my interest in computer science within the large field of computational genetics.
