Visiting PhD Student

My research focuses on applying bioinformatics and quantitative genetics, helping to improve plant breeding programs. During my PhD, I studied Rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis), using SNP markers obtained from genotyping by sequencing to improve a linkage map of one mapping population and use this information to study the linkage disequilibrium in a germplasm. In addition, due to their natural resistance to SALB disease, caused by Microcyclus ulei, I am studying the transcriptomes of two species of the genus Hevea, H. benthamiana and H. pauciflora. At the Roslin Insitute, I am working using different imputation methods to improve F1 populations of trees using simulations.
